Kathryn Carreau (She/Her/Hers)

Dr. Carreau completed her Master’s and Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics and Discourse Studies at Carleton University, which sits on the unceded, traditional territory of the Algonquin nation. Throughout her graduate studies, she developed and collaborated on several research projects focusing on the experiences of neurodivergent people within the legal system and in post-secondary educational contexts.

Having been diagnosed with a Non-Verbal Learning Disability (NVLD), Dr. Carreau has personally experienced many of the societal barriers that can impact neurodivergent people; this lived experience has motivated her to become a vocal advocate for accessibility and inclusion within her academic community.

In her research work, Dr. Carreau has placed a significant emphasis on promoting the inclusion of neurodivergent people as leaders and contributors to research. As an educator, she has always sought to foster an learning environment that accounts for and values for the many ways of thinking of being.
